‘Memories of Then’ reflects the beauty and the mystery of nature, exploring the element that hybridises the ocean with the forest. I have used a combination of sterling silver and copper to create contrast, a reflection of the shadows created by the movement of the sea, swirling its contents around and the shadows cast on the forest floor from the green canopy of leaves and trees above. The slightly domed layer of silver, conceals the origins of the protruding splayed tentacle like antennae, acting as a camouflage, concealing the true nature of both environments and their intricate and delicate balances.

Working with precious metals and creating jewellery that you know someone is going to love and treasure, is something that I find truly rewarding. The attachment that one has with a gifted piece of jewellery, is one unlike anything else.  I love the fact that even simple lines or geometrical shapes, become captivating when made from gold, silver and even highly polished copper and brass.

I also love how the material itself, can be recycled, possessing the ability to be melted down to create something completely different.
